Services for JoAnne Carolyn Hayes will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Dillon Church of God with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Hayes, 59, died Thursday, October 19, 2006 in the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born in Dillon County, May 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Humbert Hayes and Leila McDowell Hayes. She was a member of the Dillon Church of God, retired from Hotel-Motel Management, and she attended Florence-Darlington Technical College, and Horry-Georgetown Technical College. She volunteered with McLeod Hospice, and Relay for Life Cancer Society. Survivors include her daughter Carmen Carter of Dillon; granddaughter, Kyler Carter of Dillon; brothers, Walter Hayes of Dillon, Paul Hayes of Little Rock, and Tommy Hayes of Georgia; sister, Shirley Wilkerson of Dillon. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her husband, Army Major James Clay Cassada; brothers, Lafon, Clyde, and Carol Hayes; and her sister, Annie Ruth Hayes Owens.
