Joel Randolph Powers, 49, died Friday, October 20, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Monday in Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Born in Dillon County, June 26, 1957, he was the son of the late William Powers and Naomi Bass Powers. Survivors include his wife, Ann Powers of Hamer; daughters, Shannon Hyatt and Crystal Powers both of Dillon; grandchildren, Logan Hyatt, Rakwon Bowman, Hayden Rippy, Chase Foley, Marquise Bradley, and Gavin Powers; brothers, Billy (Brenda) Powers of Mt. Olive, NC, Gerald (Sandy) Powers, and James (Tammy) Powers all of Dillon; sister, Joyce (Guy) Hamilton of Dillon; nephew, Johnny Parker of Dillon. Mr. Powers was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Powers.
