Graveside services for Mattie Ruth Carter Lane will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Cooper Funeral Home. Mrs. Lane, 75, died Monday, October 23, 2006 in the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born in Dillon County, March 28, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Rufus Carter and Odie Carter. She was a member of Dillon Second Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Lizzie Sweat of Dillon; grandchildren, Jaime Lane of Myrtle Beach, John Lane of Latta, and Heather Lane Evans of Marion; 3 great-grandchildren; step-daughter; 3 step-grandchildren.
