Moody, LeGrande DILLON -LeGrande Moody, 80, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Marion County Medical Center. Mr. Moody was born on April 27, 1924 a son of the late Burnie Clyde and Palmer Butler Moody. She was born in Dillon, S.C., a daughter of the late John Wesley and Lula Mae Edwards Wilkes. She grew up in Parkton, N.C. and moved to Michigan, where she married her husband of 44 years, Joe. Louise loved to cook for family and friends and usually included her famous biscuits for all to enjoy. She especially enjoyed planting and nurturing her flower garden, and springtime, when her flowers would begin to bloom. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She loved children and was drawn to the weakest person in the room. Other than her husband, Joseph F. Novotny of North Myrtle Beach, Louise leaves behind her daughter, Susan G. Novotny of North Myrtle Beach; her son, David Steadman III and his wife Janet, of Virginia Beach, Va; a daughter-in-law, Dell Steadman of Haughton, La.; two sisters, Mable Vick of Loris, Josie Goldman of Bannister, Mich.; three sisters-in-law, Rose Novotny, Mary Egres and Mildred Novotny, all of Okemos, Mich.; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. She graduated from the Consolidated High School after which she joined the staff of Belk, becoming manager of the shoe department . She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Florence where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, becoming recipient of Teacher of the Year recognition. She was the first woman elected to the St. Luke Church Council and also served for a decade as parish secretary. She was a member of the Sister Bertha Circle of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ryan Lybrand Kannaday, who died in 1998. Surviving are two sons, Wayne Campbell Kannaday and his wife, Helen Doerpinghaus Kannaday, of Columbia and Ryan L.
