I am looking for info and pictures of Flora Taylor Ivey. She was born July 20, 1897, and died Nov. 30, 1960. She was the daughter of Mollie Parker and the stepdaughter of Furman Taylor. She married Gordon Ivey in 1916, and they are both buried at Mount Calvary Church Cemetery. She had a daughter, Azalee Taylor, who married Lemmie Webster. LATTA â James Preston Parnell, 80, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, in McLeod Medical Center-Dillon. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mt. Andrew Cemetery. Born February 8, 1926, in Bordeaux, SC, he was a son of the late Brooks Parnell and Pearl Brown Parnell. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II with the 8th Battalion, a graduate of Clemson University, and a member of the Mt. Andrew United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lucille H. Parnell of Latta; children, Robert Parnell, Lillie Blalock, Lynda Nowell, all of Dillon, Jimmie Smith of Aynor, William A. âRedâ Jackson, Allen Jackson, and Wanda Dobbs, all of Floyd Dale; sister, Betty Powell of Greenville; brothers, Buddy Parnell of Lexington and Buster Parnell of Calhoun Falls, SC; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. LAKE VIEW, S.C. - Mrs. Roberta Glee "Babe" Cole Foreman Herring, 95, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon after a brief stay. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. Inurnment will follow in Elliott Cemetery. Mrs. Herring was born January 13, 1911, in Clearfield, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Carrie Cole. She had formerly resided at Thorne Retirement Home in Lake View since 1996 and was presently at The Pines Nursing Home in Dillon. Mrs. Herring was a member of Union Baptist Church in Temperance Hill, S.C. Mrs. Herring was predeceased by her first husband, Bud Foreman and her second husband, William B. Herring. Surviving are: two beloved adopted nephews, Michael Foreman, Jr., and Brian Foreman, both of Conway; three stepsons, William Arnold Herring and his wife Louise of Atlanta, Ga., Winford Steve Herring and his wife Judy of Lake View and Everette Earl "Sammy" Herring and his wife Sarah of Dillon; three step-daughters, Eula Faye Herring of Cottageville, S.C., Linda Altman and her husband Tom of Cottageville and Rebecca Diane "Sue" Wood and her husband Kelly of Moncks Corner; 24 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Herring was also predeceased by a step-son, James Eldred Herring and a step-daughter, Shelby Jean Turner. MULLINS — Mr. Michael Dean Rising, 57, husband of Sallie Maree Christmas Rising, died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at his home after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Garris officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Cedardale Cemetery. Mr. Rising was born October 27, 1948, in Dillon, a son of the late Luther Rising, Jr. and the late Mable Dean Hayes Rising. He retired from the S.C. National Guard after 18 years of service. He had also served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Rising was a graduate of Dillon High School and Coker College. He was a member of Dillon Baptist Church. Surviving Mr. Rising, in addition to his wife of the home, are a daughter, Jordana R. Martin and her husband, Joe, of Mullins; and a brother, Luther Rising of Columbia. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 til 9 p.m. at Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

Born March 30, 1923, in Horry County, he was the son of the late Joel Maxcy Adams and Ethel Owens Smith Adams. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and was a retired carpenter. He was the widower of Ann Adams. Survivors include his daughters, Ethel Taylor, Mary (Leroy) Hyatt and Donna (Burk) Lovette, all of Dillon; sons, Mac (Shirley) Adams and Ernie (Mary) Adams, both of Dillon; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Leatherman Hendrix; and brothers, Carlisle Adams and James Adams.
DILLON — Services for Dr. Douglas White Jenkins will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Dr. Jenkins, 69, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at his residence. Born in Mullins, SC, March 15, 1937, he was the son of the late Douglas Carlton Jenkins and Marguerite White Jenkins. He was a member of St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church, was a graduate of Wofford College and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was the founding partner of Dillon Family Medicine. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Cain Jenkins of Dillon; daughters, Katherine (Kay) Porcher Jenkins of Greenville, SC, Anne Palmer Jenkins of Columbia, SC, and Eleanor (Lea) Jenkins Webster and her husband, Jay of Anderson, SC, and brother, Arthur Willis Jenkins of Mullins. DILLON — Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Cook Gaddy of Fork, SC, beloved wife of Rupert R. Gaddy, Jr., died at her home, Saturday, March 25, 2006, after an extended illness. Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Dillon with entombment following in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Monday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Kannaday’s Funeral Home in Dillon. Mrs. Gaddy was born September 17, 1928, in Rembert, a daughter of Reverend John Edward Cook and Mary Emily Cox Cook. She was a graduate of Martha Berry School for Girls in Rome, Georgia, and attended Winthrop College on a voice scholarship provided by the United Methodist Church in Dillon. Mrs. Gaddy enjoyed singing and playing the piano, especially hymns, and used her talents serving in church choirs in Dillon, Rock Hill, Greenville, and Fork. She also played and sang for the residents in the Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Fork. She also took great pleasure in playing the piano for church, family, and friends throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dillon and belonged to the Eulalia Cook Circle, named for her sister. Mrs. Gaddy’s love of flower gardening was exemplified through her involvement in the Garden Study Club in Greenville. After leaving Greenville and moving to Dillon, she joined the Rose Garden Club, where she served as President in 1974-1976 and in 1997-1998. She was a member of The Garden Club of South Carolina and the National Garden Clubs, Inc. She also participated on the Rose Garden Club committee for the restoration of the Dunbar Library in Dillon. Mrs. Gaddy was also active in the Fork Women’s Club until her illness prevented her from attending. Mrs. Gaddy is predeceased by her son, Rupert R. Gaddy, III, formerly of Newberry and brothers, Rev. Dr. Pierce E. Cook, Sr., John E. Cook, Jr., and W.A. “ Al” Cook; sisters, Ovaline Cook and the Rev. Eulalia Cook Gonzalez. She is survived by her husband, Rupert, her sister, Sue Cook of Hampton, and son, Harold E. Gaddy and Molly of Fork; daughters, Mary Elizabeth “Libba” Gaddy Urps and JC of Simpsonville, Patricia Gaddy Buddin and Dan of Rock Hill; her grandchildren, Russell Daniels of Charleston, Sarah Gaddy of Murrells Inlet, Stephanie Burr of Pamplico, John Gaddy of Newberry, Jason Urps of Greenville, Lindsay Urps of Simpsonville, Emily Buddin of Rock Hill, James and Mary Gaddy of Grenada, Mississippi, and two great-grandchildren, Brittany Gaddy and Bailey Burr of Pamplico. Mrs. Gaddy was know for her strong faith and her prayer life. Her belief that “prayer changes everything” served as a strong influence in the life of her family and friends. She loved walking on the beach, listening to the lull of the ocean, watching the sun rise and set over the ocean, playing in the sand, and searching for seashells. I am looking for information on Furman Taylor, ( born around 1883 ), and his wife, Mollie Parker Taylor, ( 1876 - 1943 ). Their children were Tracey Taylor, Lacey Taylor, and Flora Taylor, ( who married Gordon Ivey ). I have no idea where Furman Taylor was born, who his parents were, when he died, or where he is buried. Leroy Turner, 79, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, of natural causes at his residence in Dillon. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday in Dillon Second Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. He was born on November 22, 1926 in Dillon, SC. He served in the Navy from 1944 to 1947 during World War II. He was a loyal employee of Mohawk Carpet for more than 30 years. At the time of his death, Leroy was working part-time at Dillon Christian School and loved to play shoot-um-up with all of the children in the hallways. He was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church and took comfort in the fellowship of his friends. He was called by many nicknames. The children and staff of Dillon Christian School called him "Mr. T.". He called himself, "The Rock" because he said he could handle anything. In the navy he somehow got the nickname, "Nuke". The most appropriate, however, was "Sunshine," given to him by his close friend Linda Scott because of his sunny disposition, constant smile, and love of making others laugh. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Baker Turner; son, Wayne Turner; father, Tracey Turner; mother, Daisy Turner; brothers, Laneau Turner and Kay Turner; and a sister, Pauline Turner Prince. He is survived by his grandchildren, Andrea Dawn Allen of Latta and Tia Leanne Jones of Dillon; daughter-in-law, Helen Joan Turner of Dillon; great-grandchildren, Daniel Allen, Michael Allen, and Gracie Jones; and by his large group of friends and church family. Mrs. Currie is survived by her husband, Edward G. Currie, of the home; a daughter, Emilie C. Hamilton and husband Mike of Bennettsville; brothers, Lewis Davis and wife Marion of Kings Mountain, N.C., Gene T. Davis of Shelby, N.C., Paul T.
