    3. Dove, Leo DARLINGTON -DILLON- Leo Elliott Dove, 77, of Darlington died Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2004 at 2 PM at Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Wittington and Rev. Kevin Walters. Interment with full military honors will follow at Darlington Memory Gardens. Mr. Dove was born in Dillon County. He was the son of the late Walter C and Pearl D. Dove. Mr. Dove was in the United States Army and the South Carolina National Guard for 37 years. He attended Lake Swamp Baptist Church. Mr. Dove was a man who loved to travel and watch NASCAR racing but most important of all, he loved his family. Mr. Dove was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy H. Dove and two daughters, Mary Anne and Linda Carol Dove. Survivors include three sons, Bryan (Susan) Dove of Easley, Larry (Gaby) Dove and David (Sindy) Dove both of Darlington; one daughter, Diane (Dexter) Lee of Florence; two brothers, Roger Dove of Atlanta and Charles Dove of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Gladys Wittington of China Grove, NC and a special nephew, Bobby Dove of Florence. The family would like to send their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Kevin Satelle and his staff for their kind and compassionate care.     3. Dillon-CARMICHAEL, Anna HARRISONBURG, VA - Anna B. Carmichael, 66, of Harrisonburg, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at her home. Anna was born August 24, 1938, in Mullins, S.C., and was the daughter of the late Maurice Edwards and Grace McLennan Carmichael. She grew up in Dillon, S.C., where she excelled as a student athlete while at Dillon High School, achieving All-State and All-American Honors in basketball. A 1960 graduate of Queens College in Charlotte, N.C., she worked for the Presbyterian Church U.S. Board of Education in Richmond, Va. During this period of her life, Anna resourced and ran the bookstore at the Massanetta Springs Conference Center, Harrisonburg. The summers of 1969 and 1970 saw her in charge of the front desk at the conference center's hotel. After earning a masters degree in library science, Anna joined the staff at James Madison University's library, retiring in 1999. Anna was a dedicated member of the Massanetta Springs community, an avid supporter of the athletic programs at James Madison University and very involved in the women's golf community in Harrisonburg and the Lakeview Golf Course. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and Ernest Byers of Charleston, S.C.; a niece, Sandra Byers Williams and family; and a number of very dear friends. A service celebrating her life and witnessing to her resurrection will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Fred A. Holbrook at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Stewart Hall at Massanetta Springs Camp and Conference Center. Lunch will follow in the Wellford Dinning Room. Anna's cremains will be inurned at the Columbarium at Massanetta Springs at a future date. The family will receive friends this evening at her home, 4935 Pleasant Valley Road, Harrisonburg.     3. O'Dessa McLaurin DILLON - O'Dessa Lee Bethea McLaurin, age 94, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, in the Presbyterian Home in Florence, SC, where she had resided since October 1983. Born in Dillon County, SC, on October 8, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Archie McKay Bethea and Mary Lutie Bethea. Mrs. McLaurin graduated from high school in the Dillon public schools and graduated in 1933 from Columbia College in Columbia, SC. She was a devoted wife and mother as well as a teacher in the public schools for a number of years. Although her residence during her later years had been in Florence, her loyalty and membership had remained as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dillon, SC, where she was a member of Circle #1. Mrs. McLaurin was an active member and held numerous offices of the DAR, UDC, and Rose Garden Club while living in Dillon. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lutie, and son-in-law Wade Fletcher of Hartsville, SC; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Sue McLaurin of Dillon, SC, and Mrs. Susan Midgley of Bennettsville, SC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Missy and husband, Charles Cessna of High Point, NC; W. Douglas Fletcher, Jr. and wife, Brigette of Bozeman, Montana; Robert Lee McLaurin, III (Trey) and wife, Patricia of Latta, SC; Robert T. Fletcher and wife, Sarah of Columbia, SC, and Lea King and husband, Mark of Hilton Head Island, SC, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Lee McLaurin, Sr. and two sons, Robert Lee McLaurin, Jr. and Duncan Bethea McLaurin as well as her sisters, Florrie Lewis, Lutie Derrick and Archie Grayson. A service to celebrate Mrs. McLaurin's life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 9, 2004, in the Chapel of the Presbyterian Home of S.C., 2350 Lucas Street, Florence, SC, with Tom Kellam officiating. Burial will be in Dothan Cemetery near Dillon, SC, at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend John Bumgardner officiating.
