Born June 4, 1924 in Dillon, he was the son of the late Thomas D. and Eva Mae Baxley Tyner. Mr. Tyner was a World War II veteran of the US Navy and the US Army. He was a retired engineer from the US Civil Service and a member of Socastee Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Madge Mills Tyner; sons, James M. Mrs. Evans was born in Dillon, a daughter of the late George Thomas Ward and the late Agnes Herring Ward Bass. She was a longtime employee of the Gangplank Seafood Restaurant in Florence.
