Hello, I'm researching the McKewn surname. The earliest ancestor I can trace is William Talley McKewn, born abt. 1812; married Julia Ann Fordham. The 1860 SC census has the family in Orangeburg; but family stories indicate the family may have been in Colleton County prior to Orangeburg. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
