    3. Hi, I just subscribed to this list and need some help. My great-grandmother was born and died in Colleton County and I can't find any information about her or her family. I also will be coming there in July to try and so some research and would like some suggestions on the best places to do research. My great-grandmother was Emma Mimms, daughter of Edward Mimms. I do not have any more information, this came from my grandfather's death certificate and the 1890 census. Emma married Fleet Sam Crumpler and had two or three sons, Floyd S. Crumpler (my grandfather) and John S. Crumpler (listed on the 1890 census in the household of Edward Mimms). There may have been another son, Stanley, but I have not found him on any census indexes. My grandfather, Floyd Samuel Crumpler, was born in Colleton County abt. 1890 and died in Colleton County in 1933. During his lifetime, he lived in several other states, but for some reason, was living there when he died. I have obtained his death certificate. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching for a year with no success. I live in Texas and do not have access to SC resources, as our libraries here have limited information on that area. Thank you, Gloria Crumpler Vester [email protected]
