Hi, Anybody have more insight into the tribe in Colleton Co? >The main question is, was there a Lumbee >Tribe in Colleton Co.? Or were they from around York Co? The only Lumbee tribe I know of is in the Lumberton/Laurenburg area of North Carolina. The Catawba tribe is in York Co. and the Creels are in Colleton County - although they are not a recognized tribe by the US Gov't. The Creels live in an area between Round O and Canadys (at Hwy 61) close to the Edisto River and the Dorchester Co. line. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
