Surnames: Crosby Sineath Hollingsworth Lovett Hutchinson Sullivan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ncB.2ACE/135.265.1 Message Board Post: I am descended from Paul Crosby, Sr. and am interested in finding out about his parents, brothers and sisters. I've been trying to link Paul (born 1804) and Peter (born 1805) for some time, but so far have not succeeded. Do you have a source that indicates they are brothers? Here is a summary of what I know about them. Paul Crosby is at Colleton County, South Carolina in the 1830 and 1840 censuses, specifically St. Bartholomew Parish in 1840. No Crosby is indexed at Lowndes County, Georgia before 1850, but Paul and his family are there in 1850. The ages and birthplaces of the Crosbys in Paul’s household suggest that the family arrived in Georgia about 1842. A Peter Crosby, born in South Carolina, appears in the Lowndes County, Georgia census of 1850, but not in 1840. He was born about 1805, and his wife Elizabeth was born in South Carolina about 1813. The birth dates and birth places of the Crosby children suggest that they moved to Georgia about 1835, but the ages and genders of the family members are inconsistent with the household of another Peter Crosby (born 1796) who is at Colleton County in 1830-1850.
