This younger O'Brien married Charlotte MacDonald, and one of their daughters was named Charlotte CORA Price. She was b. April 1862. Her death certificate names her father as O'Brien Smith Price. The elder O'Brien died at age 48 in Charleston, 1843 (Charleston Observer, issue of July 22, 1843). The Archives have no surviving records of his probate records. In 1850, the Colleton census shows an O'Brien Smith, age 16, student, living with Isabell and James Steadman. 1860, he and Charlotte are married. By 1880, Charlotte has died, and he is married to Esther W.
