Mary, My notes show it as Heyward Township (not Haywood), just outside of Walterboro somewhere. Most genealogical libraries have a book (I don't remember the name) which has the names of all the Townships canvassed for each Federal Census, including all states and all census years. It also contains small maps showing where the townships are located. I looked Heyward up in the book as I was not sure of the spelling from what was written on the census pages. I have read that you can also get copies of the actual maps from the census bureau, but I have not persued this.
