Hello to all Risher descendants and researchers. I have no claim to the name, but am curious as to why it was my g-g-grandfather’s middle name. Capt. John Risher Hill was born 15 Jun 1816 in Colleton Co. In 1841 he married my g-g-grandmother, Mary Ann Addison, daughter of James Decatur Addison and Elvira Lemacks. John and Mary had 8 children. Mary Ann died in 1855 and John then married Temperance (Fox) Reeves. With her he had 8 more children. All of these people lived in or near Walterboro. It is believed that William Baker Hill was a brother of Cap.t John Hill. If anyone knows of any relationship between any Hill and Risher families I would love to hear from you.
