Daniel had a brother Thomas ROGERS. Daniel was a planter in the southern part of Colleton Co. and was there bef. 1760. His wife Sarah was the mother of his children: Daniel, Jr.(md. Lucretia HARRIS), Elizabeth (md. Elisha NELSON), Hannah (md. Wm. MELTON), Susannah (md. Isaac REED), but his 2nd wife Mary was named in his will according to their marriage agreement. Daniel ROGERS, Sr., died July 21, 1809 in Edgefield Dist., SC, and was living there in the Saluda/Chappells area sometime aft. 1768. Daniel ROGERS, Sr. received royal land grants as follows: 1) 250 acres, Granville Co., 25 Apr 1764 2) 100 acres, branch of Stevens Creek, 25 Sept 1766 3) 100 a., branch of Stevens Creek, Granville Co., 25 Sept. 1766 (#2 & #3 may be the same?) 4) 100 a., branch of Horne Creek, Granville Co., SC, 4 July 1769 There was a Col. FORD who lived near Daniel ROGERS, Sr., in Colleton Co., SC, and he had papers containing the records of Daniel's birth as well as other ROGERS family records. It is not known what happened to these records. Parents of Daniel ROGERS, Sr. are not known nor the place of his birth.
