Daniel had a brother Thomas ROGERS. Daniel was a planter in the southern part of Colleton Co. and was there bef. 1760. His wife Sarah was the mother of his children: Daniel, Jr.(md. Lucretia HARRIS), Elizabeth (md. Elisha NELSON), Hannah (md. Wm. MELTON), Susannah (md. Isaac REED), but his 2nd wife Mary was named in his will according to their marriage agreement. Daniel ROGERS, Sr., died July 21, 1809 in Edgefield Dist., SC, and was living there in the Saluda/Chappells area sometime aft. 1768. There was a Col. FORD who lived near Daniel ROGERS, Sr., in Colleton Co., SC, and he had papers containing the records of Daniel's birth as well as other ROGERS family records. It is not known what happened to these records. Parents of Daniel ROGERS, Sr. are not known nor the place of his birth.
