I am reposting this message in hopes that someone new might see it: I am looking for the burial place of Gabriel Ellis, who died in Colleton County in 1855. I believe he was an overseer for Charles Baring and therefore may have been buried on his plantation. The Baring plantation was probably called Bee Hive. It was located between the Edisto River and Penny Creek in St. Paul Parish. The Charleston & Savannah Railroad was later built across the plantation, and I believe it is now known as Sandy Point. Does anyone know if this location is accessible and if there are graves in the area? Thanks, Sarah E.
