Searching for the parents of JAMES R. "Richard" BLOCKER born 1832 and died after 1900 in Colleton County, SC. He was married to REMELEAH "Remy" BENTON born 1835 and died between 1900 and 1910. Remy BENTON was the daughter of JOHN BENTON of Colleton. JAMES R. and Remy BLOCKER's children were JAMES WINFRED BLOCKER born 1851, Martha 1855, William 1857, George A. 1864, Mary M. 1867, Thomas Jefferson 1868 and Annie Blocker. I believe that JAMES R. BLOCKER served in SC 3rd Cavalry Reg. "B" during the Civil War. I suspect that JAMES R. BLOCKER was the son of John W. Blocker, SR. and Mary Varn but cannot confirm it.
