I am looking for any information on my great grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Brunson, 1841-1913, which might lead to his parentage. As an adult he lived in the area of Hampton County (Gifford & Crocketville). Sometime before 1900, he moved to Heyward Township,Colleton County. At the time he was in Colleton County, he was married to Adeline Thames,(1859-1910). The receipt from 1906 was kept by some family members, and is from a business in Hampton,SC. The store was W.F. Cummings, which dealt in hay, lumber, grain, etc. It is obvious from the receipt that the two men listed split the cost. The total was divided by two in pencil, leaving a sum of $13.50 each, and I thought perhaps they owned or operated neighboring farms. Since neighbors were often extended family members, I thought the name of Prester or Preston might be a clue. The parents of Thomas Jefferson are my brick wall, so I am always on the look-out for any possible leads.
