I am planning a memorial service in the spring for my great uncle WH Hiers. He was born and raised in Lodge Sc. He died in 1943 aboard the Uss Bristol during WW II. He has never had a memorial marker and we are planning to place one in the Carters Ford Cemetary for him alongside his father and mother who are buried there. I want to put together a small memorial service and if any of you out there knew him and would be willing to share with the family we would be most grateful.
