Harris female age 85 mother Wm. Harris male 44 actually head of household Celia female 38 Celia Roberts, daughter of Temperance) Sarah A. female 20 daughter Tabitha female 18 daughter Maria female 16 daughter John male 12 son Celia female 10 daughter Mary C. female 4 daughter Irvin O'Bryan male 2 is O'Bryan his surname or middle name? William Harris male 21born SC Temperance Roberts female 60 born SC (rumored to be Cherokee Indian) Note: William J. Roberts is son of James I. Roberts & Temperance Davis Note: James Roberts, age 62, born SC, is in the household of Isaih? Clinton & his wife, Elizabeth, age 40, born GA, on the 1850 census for Columbia Co, FL Note: William's wife, Delila, is Delila Harris (as told by other researchers) & is related to William Harris, born 1805 & married to Celia Roberts - sister, niece, or possibly daughter by his first marriage?? Or is she Celia Roberts Harris' daughter?? Note: William Harris, age 21, most likely is the brother of Delila Harris Roberts.and probably the son of William Harris, born 1805?, by his marriage before Celia Roberts.or indeed the oldest son of William & Celia Roberts Harris. 1870 census Polk County, Florida (image is very hard to read): Family 35 Harris, William 65 male farmer SC (?Celia?) 58 female SC (Celia Roberts Harris) Tabitha 30? female SC (Tabitha Harris Douglass) (??Douglass??) 27 male SC (who is this man??) Maria 25 female SC (never married??) Mary 20 female SC (married Richard T. Caddin) Ervine 18 male SC (Irvin O'Bryan Harris) Jane 15 female FL (Jane Deacles-who is she??) Family 36 Harris, John 32 male SC (son of William & Celia) Margaret 17 female SC Note: the son, age 10-15, on the 1840 census, Beaufort Co. for W. Harris household, is not living with the above family for the 1850 census.at the age of 20-25, he is probably "out on his own".and I suspect that this absent son is William H. Harris, who married Elizabeth "Betsy" Caroline Langdale, daughter of John C. Langdale & Jane Guthrie.I also suspect that this is the William Harris that is on the 1850 census for Columbia County, Florida, with the family of William J. Roberts. Note: Celia, wife of William Harris, is Celia Roberts, daughter of James I. Roberts & Temperance Davis. Note: Sarah A., daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married John W. Costine. Note: Tabitha, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Cader Douglas/Douglass. Note: Maria, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, is said to have never married.I suspect she did & am trying to find her on a census or other record with her husband or with her married name. Note: John, son of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Margaret E. Hancock. Note: Celia, daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Benjamin Tyre. Note: Mary C., daughter of William & Celia Roberts Harris, married Richard T. Caddin. Note: Irvin O'Bryan Harris? married Susan Jane Glover. Note: Samuel Jamerson? - have not found what happened to him.do not know if he is significant or not.but, I have found a reference to "Samuel Jamerson" in message to "Harris - List" at Rootsweb 1880 census / Polk County, Florida: Census Place: Precinct 7, Polk, Florida Source: FHL Film 1254131 National Archives Film T9-0131 Page 9A Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Franklin HARRIS Self M M W 29 SC Occ: Farmer Fa: SC Mo: SC Salome HARRIS Wife F M W 25 GA Occ: Keeping House Fa: GA Mo: GA Willet F. I believe she had a daughter Rebecca who married Morgan Craven in Colleton Co., as one of their daughters is named Ferabe. She is listed on the 1850 Cesus which was taken on August 19, 1840 as Ferelee Williams Age 50, but listed as a male. Children listed are Sarah Williams Age 24, Margaret age 18 and Jesse age 12. In 1860 Sarah Williams is listed in the home of Jarvis Barnes Craven along with a child Lawrence. In 1860 her name was Sarah Craven, with children Rebecca and Lawrence Craven.

Her email address is/was eleanor@bfree.on.ca Last year, Mrs. Bradley's self published book OUR FAMILY STORY was made available. She indicates that Hugo Sheridan purchased Round 0 Plantation (Sand Hills) from Giles Rivers. Eleanor is descended from Hugo Sheridan via his daughter Gerogianna who married Dr. Abraham English Williams. Dr. Williams' grandfather James E. Williams settled in upper Colleton County, SC after the American Revoluiton. James had at least three sons: Henry M, Abraham T., and James Allen. My ancestors include Henry M. Williams and Abraham T. Williams. The latter had a large family including a son Richard, born about 1822 and is believed to have moved to Georgia; and a son Benjamin G. Williams born about 1820. Little is known about Richard or Benjamin. Family tradition indicates that James E. Williams had a brother Thomas who may have been killed at the Revolutionary War battle of Guildford Court House fought in North Carolina, One of Abraham T. Williams' sons was named Thomas, born 1829, but from what we know, Thomas had no children. Another Williams line in Colleton County are descendants of William Williams. William lived closer to Walterboro than James. Far as we know neither man was related.
