Joseph Smelie Seabrook's sister Sarah (Seabrook) Richardson may have moved to GA as her brother Smelie Seabrook (1788-1848) and Martha his wife lived in Jones Co. GA and are buried side by side there on private property. Her tombstone says Mrs. M. M. Seabrook age 65 years . The 1850 census for Jones County GA lists a Martha Seabrook, two years after Smelie's death: Martha Seabrook, Head of household, age 50 born SC; Sarah Ralston, 60, born SC. Harriet Jefferson, 36, born GA. I suspect the Sarah Ralston listed above was Sarah (Seabrook) Richardson whose first husband was Thomas Richardson and who married second Mr.Ralston. Dr. John E. Stillwell in the 1880's published Historical and Genealogical Miscellany, Early Settlers of New Jersey and their Descendants. This book included many Seabrook families in the north and the south. He includes the Seabrook family in SC from information he got from Honoria Wilkes Seabrook daughter of Thomas Wilkes Seabrook, Sr in this same Seabrook line, "after Richardson's death she [Martha] married Mr. Ralston of Daniels Island." Could Harriet Jefferson in this same household be her daughter? Let me know your thoughts on this. Dottie Smith

I have some info on an Issac Savage Minus. When was your Issac born? I'm trying to find info on my gg grandfather Robert Minus (b ~1836). He's in the 1880 Blackville, Barnwell, SC census and was in the SC 5th Cavalry Regiment. His family came from the Colleton and Dorchester county areas but I'm having trouble finding his ancestors. I feel like the Minuses from this area all related to a Jacob Minus who came to SC in the 1700s. I would like to compare notes with what you have on this family. Thanks

Fralix (Mack) Fralix? Mack died and she then married a man named Benton. The children of Elizabeth and Mack were: Sara Ann (Lula); Aquilla (Quill or Quillie); Shelley; Lessie; and Cassie Edgar. I noticed you had a great-grandfather named Quillie or something like that and that my relatives had a child with that name. I have to think there is probably some connection. Incidently, I am a descendent of Cassie Edgar Fralix. He was my great-grandfather. I know a little more about the family. I would be interested in talking to you.

Surnames: Collier Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ncB.2ACE/1446 Message Board Post: Can anyone direct me on Collier family lines for the Colliers found in the southern part of South Carolina in the 1700s? Particularly, I am interested in the Colliers in the Charleston, Orangeburg and Colleton areas. I am specifically interested in Thomas Collier and his sons William and Benjamin of Colleton (ca 1743) and John Collier of Colleton Co (ca 1749). John was originally out of Virginia and would have been born ca 1710-1720 (best guess). I know that many of the Colliers in northern South Carolina (Abbeville Dist) are descendants of Cornelius Collier of King and Queen Co., Va. Also I am aware of Joseph Collier of Edgefield (originally of Hanover Co., Va) If anyone has researched the Colliers of Orangeburg, Colleton and Charleston areas of South Carolina, I would certainly appreciate hearing from you. Perhaps I can help you with your research as well. You can email me at dboots3144@aol.com Donna

The church and cemetery are on the right. There are no dates on the marker. There is a Elizabeth Elliot b? d. Feb. 6, 1825 (born in Charleston) buried in Pon Pon Chapel of Ease Cemetery.
