Teal b. abt.1853, he is found on the 1880 US Census for Chesterfield County Steerpen Township. John A. is listed as 27 his wife listed as Patience 41, children - Elsie Jane 6, James R. 4, Sarah M. 2, Jemima 1 also two stepsons Gilbert Clark 24 & Isaac Clark 19. It also shows that his parents were both born in SC. Apparently, Patience was married to a Clark previously. His oldest daughter, Elsie Jane Teal b. 27 Sep 1874 d. 2 Aug 1905 buried at Prospect United Methodist Cemetery, Chesterfield, SC is my great grandmother she married Elias McKinnon Wilks b. Dec 1859.
