A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17 from Wolfe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial followed in Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, N.C. Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Jordan was a daughter of the late Gary Wadsworth Odom and Loyd E. Odom. She was the widow of Clarence Jordan. She was a homemaker, a member of United Wesleyan Church in Charlotte, N.C., and the Westgate Order of the Eastern Star No. 343. Surviving are a son, Harry (Angie) Stewart of Tega Cay; a stepson, Gerald "Dick" Jordan of Mooresville, N.C.; two grandsons; six step-grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 from Cheraw Family Worship Center. Burial followed in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. Born in Bennettsville, Mr. Rogers was a son of the late Barful Robert and Mary Florence White Rogers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was a golfer and fisherman. He played baseball and loved all sports. Surviving are two brothers, his twin, Donald Rogers of Cheraw, and James E. Rogers of Lynchburg, Va.; and a sister, Betty R. Quick of Bennettsville. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Chesterfield. Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Hinson was a daughter of the late Alice Jefferson Hinson and Allen Hinson. She was educated in the Chesterfield County School system and was a 20-year employee of Burlington Industries. She was baptized as a Jehovah's witness in 1976. Surviving are nieces, Alice H. Chapman of Chesterfield, Patricia A. Smith, Joyce L. Toler and Valerie D. Toler, all of Washington, D.C., and Virginia M. Toler of Los Angeles, Ca.; nephews, Allen L. Toler, Calvin L. Toler and William T. Toler, all of Washington, D.C.; two step-daughters, Margaret Sanders of Cheraw, and Brenda Lumpkins of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepson, Wilbur (Listeria) Lewis of Chesterfield; two aunts, Leola Nivens of Salisbury, N.C. and Clara Mae Jackson of Chesterfield; a special cousin, Ethel Ford of Cheraw; and a host of great- nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Marshall; a brother, Legette Hinson; and a sister, Virginia L. Toler. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 from Chesterfield Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Chesterfield Cemetery. Born in Lancaster County, Mr. Steele was a son of the late Baxter Alexander and Eunice Jennings Steele. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina Law School and was a retired attorney. He served as a former town Judge, County Attorney and Public Defender, and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. He was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church, where he served as a former Chairman of Deacons, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher and member of the Building Committee. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary Smith Steele of the home; two sons, Steven Steele of Richmond, Va.; and Russell (Lisa) Steele of Florence; a daughter, Cynthia Steele (Paul) Nowak of Littleton, Col.; four grandsons, Andrew Nowak, Joseph Nowak, Samuel Steele and Jackson Steele; and a sister, Dorothy Rowell of Lancaster. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 from Smithville A.M.E. Zion Church in Cheraw. A committal service was in the McQueen Family Cemetery. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Watkins was a son of the late Sallie McQueen and Leroy Watkins Sr. He moved to Cheraw to live with his grandparents, the late Elbert and Laura McQueen until he graduated from Long High School in 1966. He moved to Monticello, N.Y. in 1966 and worked as a driver for Short Line Buses for many years and with Shoprite. Surviving are his wife, Linda Armstead; two sons, Archet Watkins of Monticello, N.Y., and Marcus Watkins of Highland Falls, N.Y.; a daughter, Kushana Watkins of Monticello, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Ajah Monet McNeil and Jada Malysia Davidson; three sister, Allie B. Taylor of Cheraw, Deloris Watkins of Jersey City, N.J., and Tanjay Watkins of Monticello, N.Y.; one brother, Jasper Watkins of Miami, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
