George Edward King was the son of James Wiley King, born 18 June, 1848 in Darlington County and died on 15 April, 1923. James was married to Sarah Elizabeth Watkins, born 10 Jan, 1839 and died 14 May 1913. Both are buried at Union Methodist Church in Chesterfield. This King family is that of Gillum King, b. 1783 in NC and wives Nancy Jowers and later Margaret Outlaw. Lots of detail can be found in the book "The King's Footprints" by Jill King Lyles, available thru the Old Darlington District Genealogical Society Library in Hartsville.
