Part 1 Craig James Old Craig James Old, 40, of Conway, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001 at Conway Hospital. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28 from Juniper Bay Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Thrower and the Rev. T. C. Holmes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born in Naha, Okinawa, Japan, and reared in Birmingham, Ala., Mr. Old was a son of Joyce Old Morris and the late James Old Jr. He attended Fultondale High School in Birmingham and was retired from the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Santa Barbara, USS Nicholas, NRD Columbia, NRD Atlanta, USS Sierra and USS Halyburton. He was a veteran of the Persian Gulf War and after retirement from the Navy was an NJROTC instructor at North Myrtle Beach High School. He was a member of the southern gospel group "The Red White Family" of Conway, was a member of Masonic Lodge #65 and a member of Juniper Bay Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his mother and stepfather, Jarold Morris of Moncks Corner, are, his wife, Barbara White Old of Conway; a son, Justine Old of Camden; two brothers, Mark Old of Houston, Texas, and Sean Morris of Birmingham; a sister, Pat San Soucie of Birmingham; and two stepbrothers, Paul Morris of Elgin and Wayne Morris of Jacksonville, Fla. Surviving are a son, Jerald Duane Robertson of Cullowhee, N.C.; a sister, Kathleen Gourley of Florida; four grandchildren, Joel Robertson, Aletha Robertson, Julie Ann Murphy and Jerald D. Robertson II; and one great-grandchild, Donavan Asher Murphy. He was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Alan Robertson and Franklin Dwight Robertson; and a sister, Raidene Coe. A daughter of the late Eliza Franks, Mrs. Wadsworth lived in New York the majority of her adult life. She worked as a salesman with Fuller Products and was resident manager for many years. She was a member of Grandview Presbyterian Church since 1976 and had served as a Deacon. Surviving are her husband, Willie Augustus Wadsworth Jr. of Cheraw; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
