    2. Addie Kelley Ratliff Addie Kelley Ratliff, 86, of Cheraw, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002 in Cheraw. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 from Oak Grove Methodist Church, Wallace. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Chesterfield County, P.O. Box 293, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709. Born in Bennettsville, Mrs. Ratliff was a daughter of the late John Butler and Wilma Leviner Kelley. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Shirley R. Roscoe of Cheraw; a brother, Carrol Kelley of Cheraw and Leon Kelley of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Nell Bradshaw of High Point, N.C.; seven grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; and several great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert L. Ratliff; a daughter, Mary Alice Ratliff; three brothers, Marvin Kelley, James Butler Kelley and Wilson Kelley; and a sister, Meater Driggers Burr. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27 from Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, c/o Brenda Sellers, Route 2, Box 99, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709; or Chesterfield Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Chesterfield, S.C. 29709. Born in Hartsville, Mr. Hodge was a son of the late James Newton and Flora Jane Elizabeth Keith Hodge. He was a retired foreman with Sonoco Products, Co., and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he served as former Chairman of the Trustees and member of the Cemetery Committee. Surviving are his wife, Susan Gaskins Hodge of the home; a son, James Douglas Hodge of Columbia; two daughters, Sherry Hodge (Howard) Cross of Florence, and Christel Hodge of Chesterfield; one granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Cross of Florence; and a special friend, Daniel T. Davidson of Chesterfield. He was preceded in death by two brothers, B. E. Hodge and Johnny Carroll Johnson. A funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 from Piney Grove Baptist Church, Patrick. Burial followed in Old Piney Grove Cemetery. A son of Nathan and Ellen Powe Sellers, Mr. Sellers was retired from J. P. Stevens in Wallace. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his grandchildren, Katrina Blue, Charles (Joan) Campbell, Carolyn Hamilton, Keith Hamilton, Charles (Mary) Love, Mamie (Charles) Hannah, Betty (Darrell) Spivey, Brenda Johnson, Dennis Love, Pat (Jody) Sowell, James Blue, Dianne (Clarence) Moore, Eugene McDonald, LeVance McDonald, Jennette (Randolph) Young, Thomas (Jenelle) McDonald, Verona (Dwayne) Whiteside and Marion Smith; a sister-in-law, Azalee Campbell; 29 great- grandchildren; numerous great-great- grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Sellers; children, Delmost, Mildred and Agnes; and grandchildren, Maggie and Robert. Flemming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eugene 'Bullie' Bittle Eugene "Bullie" Bittle, 93, of Chesterfield, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Chesterfield Convalescence Center, Cheraw. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 from Davidson Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Born in Chesterfield County, Mr. Bittle was a son of the late Sanko and Dove Bryant Bittle. He was married for 64 years to the late Allie Lee "Doll" Mills Bittle. He was a member and Deacon of Mt. Level Baptist Church and later Davidson Grove Baptist Church where he served as Senior Deacon for 50 years. He was educated in the public schools of Chesterfield County and was active in church and civic organizations in and around Chesterfield County. He served as Treasurer of the St. Paul Baptist Association for over 50 years. He also held positions of President of Edwards Elementary School PTA, President of the "Colored" Farm Bureau and member of Ruby Lodge #422. Surviving are five sons, David Eugene Bittle, Burnice Sylvester (Margie) Bittle, Thurmond (Mae Rose) Bittle, Ralph Anthony Bittle and Kenneth Warren (Camalah) Bittle; three daughters, Doris Bittle Cummings, Sandra Marie (James C.) McQueen and Brenda B. Kennedy; two sisters, Martha (Charles) Grimes and Geneva Redfearn; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three children, Shirley Mae Bittle, Burise Celester Bittle and John Lester Bittle. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 from the Miller-Rivers- Caulder Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Born in Chesterfield County, Mrs. Campbell was a daughter of the late John Gary and Mary Davis Teal. She was retired as the co-owner/operator of T & C Grocery for 25 years with her husband, Howard B. Campbell. She was a graduate of Zoar High School and was a member of Sandy Plains United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Howard B. Campbell; a daughter, Crystal (Tony) Miller of Chesterfield; a grandson, John (Natalie) Douglas of Chesterfield; two great-grandsons, Campbell Douglas and Will Douglas of Chesterfield; a sister, Lessie(the Rev. Bert) Watson of Lancaster; one niece; and two nephews. Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
