You mentioned 1822 for your Benjamin--is this his birthdate? If it is either a birth or death date, we may be looking at different parts of the family (the names William, Thomas, Benjamin and David are rampant in this family <G>). I was thinking perhaps he could be a son of my Benjamin, but per the census, the Benjamin I am talking about had finished having all his children by abt 1820, as best as I can tell. My Benjamin Teal was b. abt 1778 and was in the Anson County, NC census in 1810-1850, after which I assume he died (his wife died between 1840 and 1850, just early enough for me not to find out her name through the census, more's the pity). My line goes through the David Teal I believe to be the son of Benjamin, m. Mary. David was b. between 1810 and 1820 and died in 1849. Mary continued to live next to Benjamin for quite a while, and died after the 1870 census. Take a look at your data and let me know if you would like to explore further.
