I have just been sent a windfall of information on the Fields family. James Fields and wife, Julia Allison, were living at one time in Chesterfield Co., SC. He bought 200 acres on both sides of Thompson's Creek. He and his family moved to Gibson Co., Tenn ca. 1820-1830 with his sister Jincy and her husband, John Donaldson, (Jr.) and their younger children. James Fields came back to whereever he lived and there's a book, " Gibson Co, Past and Present, by Culp, that describes James Fields' trip from TN back to SC and back to start a church in TN with the covenant from the church he had left which may have been Mill Creek Baptist Church. Does anyone in the area of Cheraw know of such a church? I would be interested in any history of it and if there are any records of it anywhere. Thanks, Joanne Harley harleyclan@coastalnet.com
