Hi, First, Thank You: To Barbara at the Prince Wm Co Library Inter-Library Loan Office, the guys and gals at the Library of Congress Periodical Room, and the archivists in the National Archives Military History Room. As always, thanks to Travis and the fluxzone, without whose help the pages would not have made it onto the "net". I have completed my project on the Ship Irish Volunteer! I am more sure today, than ever before that this ship is the ship Robert Lathan came to America aboard. This also might help with Antrim research. I will eventually go back over the Belfast News-Letter database and try to determine a date that the listings for James and Robert TOGETHER, cease to appear in the newspaper. My thinking is that by doing this I can nail down a better location or locations for Robert in Antrim. This might, in turn, make it possible to find other Irish records having to do with Robert Lathan in Ireland. I realize that going through ALL of what I've posted from these two newspapers is a LOT of reading. I do believe it is worth the time to look at, or I wouldn't have posted it on my web site. My feeling is that most of us would like to one day find a grave, or baptism, or marriage in Antrim, to prove Robert's lineage in Ulster. Due to his religious affiliation and the loss of records in! the Irish Archives fire, this seemed a logical sequence to research. Here are ways of reading what I've found: 1.. Then the Belfast News-Letter stuff (be sure to visit the link to the one page I have posted) and lastly what I found in the Charleston City Gazette.
