    3. Aug. 9, 1860 SOUTHERN FRUIT TREES The undersigned informs the citizens of York Dist. , that he has appointed MR. B.P. BOYD of Yorkville, grown near Greensboro, N.C. Trees are all of Southern growth and warranted in every respect to be represented. Orders left with MR. BOYD for trees, will be filled, and the trees delivered in Yorkville , at October Court. T.H. FENTRESS. - HEADQUARTERS -Allison Creek, York Dist. order No. - The 46th Regiment , S.C.M. , will parade at Ebenezerville, on Saturday the 11th day of August at 10 o'clock, armed and equipped as law directs, for review and exercise. MOORE, Adjutant. - LOCAL AFFAIRS- Oct.11 On Tuesday night about 1 o'clock, the shavings under the floor of MR. CARROLL'S new residence, now in process of erection, and the lumber room of MR. WHEELER'S Carriage House, both near the Depot, were set on fire, it is thought, by some villain or villains. Fortunately the fire was discovered, before much damage was done. We do not cry " wolfe", but let 'wisdom be justified of her children'. WATCH ! - We are under obligation to MR. J. LEANDER PARISH, for a lot of very fine turnips. They are the largest we have seen this season- a dozen filling a half bushel, Thanks ! - WEATHER STATISTICS Maj. McKENZIE with his usual kindness and punctuality, has handed us his report of wind, rain, temperature, etc. for the month of September. The clear time during the month amounted to 19 1/2 days, the cloudy to 10 1/2 days. It rained 4.96 inches....the wind was in all directions; but the greatest quanity of rain fell, when it was in the South East...it is not cold enough, he thinks to produce frost. - PUBLIC SALE- Dec.20 Will be sold at my residence in York Dist., on Wednesday, the 216th of December, at PUBLIC SALE, 800 or 1000 Bushels of Corn, a quality of Fodder.
