Elizabeth was very probably Elizabeth Whitted, daughter of Gideon Whitted whose will was probated in Campbell Co, GA. Prior to moving to Butts Co, GA, Gideon had lived in the Chester/Fairfield area. Would love to work more on these families, Jane J Cramer <[email protected]> wrote: Jane, Am really curious about your Gwinn's. My York Co Gwinns/Guinn/Gwin were originally from VA. My ancestor Thomas Guinn/Gwinn abt 1764-1844 came from VA with his mother and at least two brothers. He is married at the time of the 1790 census and in Fairfield Dist. His mother may have been a Dove, not proven, and they may have been moving to SC to be near her brother in law already there. My Thomas' father died in 1776 in VA. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth had many children including a William and a John. They moved to York Co about 1830's. This could be that WM and do you know anything more about John DOVE Gwinn? I always use multiple spellings for Gwinn because I find it different ways on different documents. Thank you for any help you may offer.
