    1. Re: Daniel/David Elliott
    2. In my copy of DANIEL ELLIOTT, PATRIOT, AND A RECORD OF HIS DESCENDANTS, 1769-1930, compiled by his great-grandson Edwin Ebenezer Elliott, Portland, Oregon 1930. I see no mention of Daniel being also called David. My copy of this booklet was obtained from through the Chester County Genealogical Society several years ago and is not indexed. 3. Let me grasp at straws, please. I have a Henry Elliott, could be John Henry Elliott who were in Bradley County, Arkansas as early as 1837 because a child was born in Arkansas that year. Henry Elliott married Nancy Spencer, who was born in North Carolina in 1792. Henry died before the 1850 census; Nancy spencer died between 1870 and 1880 in Bradley County, Arkansas. Children that I found in Nancy's census record are: Aramintha, born in Alabama, age 26 in 1850 John S., age 20 in 1850, born in Alabama, Sarah V, age 13, in 1850, born in Arkansas. In the census record, it was checked that Nancy spencer Elliott could read and write. In Bradley County, she was living next door to Coker and Franklin families. I also found a Spencer Elliott, born about 1832 in Tennessee. I have no idea whether he is a child of Henry and Nancy Elliott, but the "Spencer" name might indicate it. He was also in Bradley County, Arkansas. 3. I am certain the Godey's Lady's book, Heroic Women of the Revolution, is in error with the name ''David Elliott'' for I have never seen Daniel Elliott as David either. However, I have seen the name Daniel look like David in a census record on another person I am researching. Therefore, most likely a transcription error on the Godey's Lady's book part.
