Obituaries Chester, Feb. 18- Funeral services for MINOR CROXTON GARDNER, 44, who died Saturday of a heart attack at his home at Lancaster, were conducted Sunday at the Flat Creek Bapt. church, with the Rev. D.M. SANDERS, officiating, assisted by the Rev. D.M. RIVERS, the Rev. JOHN DABNEY and the Rev. W.E. ANDERSON. Burial was in the church cemetery. MR. GARDNER is survived by his wife, MRS. JOHN MACKEY GARDNER; a daughter, MISS FRANCES GARDNER , Greenville; a sister, MRS. BELUAH KNIGHT of Lancaster county; 5 brothers, IRA, and OTIS GARDNER, Lancaster county, AMASSA GARDNER, GILBERT GARDNER and FRANK GARDNER, Lancaster. He was the son of the late M.C. GARDEN and the late MRS. ELLEN GARDNER, was engaged in the insurance business at the time of his death. --- Chester, Feb. 18- Funeral services for MRS. ALPHON ROOF, 71, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, MRS. MAGGIE DAWKINS near Columbia, after an illness of some duration, were conducted at the Lowrance funeral home at Chester. The Rev. HAZEL HENSON of Lancaster officiating, with burial in the Evergreen cemetery at Chester. Surviving MRS. ROOF are 6 sons, T.J., and C.J. ROOF, Cornwell, JOE ,Whitmire, GEORGE, Bascomville, SAM Charlotte and CLARENCE ROOF of Chester; one daughter, MRS.
