    3. Obituaries- 1924 Chester, Dec. 2- Mrs. E.R. MODLIN died at the home of her daughter, MRS. BLAND, a few miles from Chester, Sunday and was buried Monday afternoon at Old Purity graveyard. The funeral services were conducted at the home by the Rev. D.W. GARVIN. MRS. MODLIN was 90 years of age, and in a week would have celebrated her 91 st birthday. She was the daughter of a Revolutionary sire, and the MARY ADAIR Chapter, D.A.R. of this city, was planning to commemorable MRS. MODLIN'S birthday in a befitting way. --- Chester, Sept. 24- MRS. ISABEL STEWART, wife of MR. C.J. STEWART, of Camden, died at the home of her daughter, MRS. NETTIE PARKER, in this city, where she had come on a visit, hoping that her health would be benefited, however her condition soon became serious and her death was sudden. She was 80 years of age. Surviving is her husband, C.J. STEWART and the following children; J.C., W.C., L.T., and TOM STEWART of Camden; MRS. HATTIE PARKER, Chester, and MRS. ELIZABETH MOORE of Camden. The remains accompanied by her husband and sons, were carried to Camden and the funeral services and burial were there. --- Chester, Sept. 11- MRS. MARY CORNELIA WILKS, widow of the late William THOMAS WILKS, died Thursday morning following a illness of about 3 weeks, at Pryor hospital. The funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist church Friday, interment will be made at the historic Calvary graveyard. She was a devoted member of Brushy Fork Baptist church and was one of Chester's most highly esteemed women. Survived by the following children; MRS. T.O. ESTES, W.E. WILKS, J.O. WILKS, L.J. WILKS, B.T., J.C. and G.C. WILKS and MRS. CORNWELL. --- nancie - share, don't sell.
