    3. Obituaries- 1938 Chester, Jan. 31- FRANL LOVE MARSHALL, 52, Chester citizen, died at his home on Wylie street this morning , following a protracted illness. MR. MARSHALL is survived by his widow, MRS. KATE CORNWELL MARSHALL; a daughter, MRS. SPRUCE WHITE, JR., of Augusta and by 4 sisters, and a brother; MRS. HELEN MARKWELL, MISS MAGGIE CHICKERING MARSHALL, and MISS KATE LEE MARSHALL, all of Greenville, BOBERT GILL MARSHALL of Spencer, Indiana and MRS. L.B. DAWSON of Chester. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday from Purity Presbyterian church of which he was a member, with DR. JOHN McSWEEN, the pastor officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery. MR. MARSHALL was a s/o the late MRS. BURNIE WALKER MARSHALL and the late CAPT. J.K. MARSHALL. He was a native of Chester and for many years connected with Chester Hardware company, later associated with Monroe Hardware at Monroe, N.C. He returned to Chester some years ago where he opened a business. He was widely known in Presbyterian church circles. --- Chester, Feb. 19- WILLIAM EDWARD BIGHAM, 22, died today at Pryor hospital. He became ill last Saturday afternoon and underwent an operation Monday morning. Surviving are his parents, MR. and MRS. WILLIAM GILBERT GIBHAM and 5 brothers and 3 sisters; JOSEPH LaFAYETTE BIGHAM, ROBERT GILBERT BIGHAM, MRS. MARION W. KLINE, WALTER JAMES BIGHAM, THOMAS LEROY BIGHAM, MISS BEATRICE BIGHAM, MISS NELLIE and ROTHELL ROSS BIGHAM, all of Chester. He was a member of the St. James Methodist church. He was an employed of the Gayle plant of the Springs Cotton mills. The funeral will be conducted at the St. James Meth. church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. G.S. DUFFIE, officiating.
