    1. Lookinf for African American Chisholms from the Chester, South carolina area.
    2. Hi my name is Antoinette Russell Anderson and I have been working on my families histories for awhile . My family was owned by David Chisholme Jr., around 1809/10 he moved into Chester, South Carolina from Louisa county , Virginia. I believe that David Chisholme was a slave trader and sold slaves into New Orleans, he was listed as being in Louisana around the same time of his move to Chester. David Chisholme died around 1816 in Chester SC. His slaves were than left to his brother Thomas and then to his nephew and Thomas' Son-in Law Suprey Chisholme. Here is a list of the slaves belonging to Suprey which includes my Great great grandfather Ned and his brothers William and Dudley and my great great grandmother Julia. Here is a list of the slaves that David owned at the time of his death in 1816: Negroes: Ruben 500 , Gaberiel $600 Ambrose $550, Jessie $600 Archbald $600, Mose Jr. $400 John, $350, Joseph $425 collin $300 Philip $550 Holems 260 Hattan and two male children $750 Bridget and children Hannah and Ned $700 Old Mose's wife and two children $500 sarah $200, Louisa $180 Dolly $425, Nancy $300 An Inventory of the goods and Chattles rights & credits of Suprey Chisholme viz as taken the 5th and 6th of Feby 1834 viz Negroes Major $780, Linsly 325, Tod 650 Wlliam 500, Mary Jane 200, alex 400, Amy 200, Mandy, 150, Chloe 100 Old Chloe 100, Wyatt 740, Violet 450 Dudley 700, Diana 475, Ned 650 Becky 400, Nancy 500, Bob 650 John 650, Georgiana 225, Theodore 200 James 125, Daniel 475, Sila 350 Clarissa 300, Ben 425, Anthony 225 Nancy 175, Daniel 137, Sarah 100 Scylla 450, Alfred 400, Anderson 250 Abrahm 150, Major 140, Bosin 650 Tilla 350, Robert 450,Barnet 225 Peter 175,Patsy,140, Charlotte 100 Aggy,450 ,Harriet 200,Caroline 400 Violet 75, Jim 110, Mary 50, Napeleon 550 I would like to make contact with descendants of these enslaved families.In 1855 Martha Chisholm Lewis wife of Edward Lewis brought her slaves that were willed to her by her father Suprey Chisholm to Gainesville, Florida. After reconstruction many headed for the Northern states. I know that some of them migrated to New York, Ohio, Delaware, Pennyslavania, and there are many Chisholms in the Baltimore area that are from the Chester area and also Pitsburgh, Pa, Marion county, Florida.
