Surnames: Woods Wilks Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/lcB.2ACE/2438 Message Board Post: One of my great-grandfathers was Moses Woods, who resided in Baton Rouge Township of Chester County until his death on 21MAR1936. We believe based upon other data that he was the son of Henry J. Woods. Census data indicates that Moses Woods was born circa 1848, and then married Mary ???, who was born circa 1854. They raised a family, of at least eight children and lived apparently near Woods Ferry Road in Baton Rouge Township. Mary Woods is not shown as living in the Woods househould in the 1910 census records. My grandmother was Alice Woods, who was born about 1892. She married Paul Wilks sometimes around 1911 and they moved to Asheville, NC. The union with Paul Wilks produced four children before a tragic railroading accident ended his life either late in 1916 or sometime in 1917. My father, Thomas, was born 18APR1917 in Asheville and was the baby of that relationship. After remarrying to John Minter, Alice Woods Wilks Minter, gave birth to eight other children, but only four of the eight survived infancy. She passed away 4 days before Christmas in 1934. Thomasina Woods McCormick, my first cousin once removed, told me that her body was returned to Chester County for burial. I have been trying to find additional information on the Moses Woods and Paul Wilks families. Information is sought as the siblings, other descendants, and final resting place of Moses Woods and Alice Woods. Is there anyone out there that can help me narrow my search?
