Now I go back to square one. My John Knox was born 16 May 1816 in "South Carolina" then moved to Blount County Tennessee where he married Lucinda Blackburn 21 Jan 1840. Then before 1850 they moved to Franklin County Arkansas. Since so many of the Knox clan moved from South Carolina to Arkansas, and the birth year was the same, I was hoping that the John you mention was actually my John and that the reference of a marriage to Martha Green Johnson was an error. By confirming a child from that marriage you just confirmed that this JOhn is not my gr gr gr grandfather. I am disappointed, but at least you helped me to eliminate an option.
