Don't expect any help from the courthouse in Chester. They have no interest in helping anyone find anything -- "too busy" -- even if you drive there and spend the day. VERY disheartening and a waste of time. They seem to be the exception to good public service, even for those of us who live and pay taxes in SC.

Heavens, I hate to hear that. I haven't been to Chester for at least 10 years but I thought the Clerks there were very nice and went out of their way to be helpful.
