    3. Sharon, there is some information at this site - his name is spelled "Greenberry" here.   http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~panthercreek/p137.htm   Sandra --- On Sat, 7/18/09, sharon <sharon@worthey.net> wrote: From: sharon <sharon@worthey.net> Subject: [SCCHEST2] Chester County history To: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com, scchest2@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, July 18, 2009, 8:11 PM Does anyone know the "general" history of Chester County from the very early 1800s? Did people travel a lot between counties? Between SC and the territories (MS,GA,AL)? Or back to VA? Specifically, I'm looking for info on Greenbury Worthy, born ca 1819 in Chester County. I find a Greenbury Worthy in AL a generation before, and would guess he's an uncle, but can't get beyond that speculation. So any clues are welcome. 3. Thank you, Sandra. This has much info I didn't have (like Greenberry's entire history. I had 1840 forward but not much prior.) ... Now to figure out where she got this info from since I don't see references on the parts I need. Documentation. Documentation. Documentation. Aaaargh! I mean... hooray! Thanks again! 3. On pgs 430-431 of "Chester Co Heritage History, Vol 1" there is some info on this family going back to William Worthy, b cir. 1753 in Charlotte Co., VA. I have this book & if you need these pgs email me at bepstein@sc.rr.com with your email addy. I can scan & send them to you later today or tomorrow. Anne Collins & William Buford Worthy wrote the info on these 2 pgs. What I am interested in is the last paragraph, center col. of pg 431 where it states: "Other Patriots of the American Rev of ours who lived in Chester Co were Issac (sic) McFadden, Sr., James Ferguson. Both were Marion's Men & Joseph Tims." I am trying to figure out who this James Ferguson is. My line is Peter Culp who married Elizabeth Ferguson. Her parents were James Ferguson & Sarah (unknown maiden name). Sarah was killed at the home of Barbara Culp McKinney in the Indian war, the summer of 1781. Does anyone on this list know who this James Ferguson is? Bev "Genealogy is not just a pastime; it's a passion."
