Flether Clark was my Great, Great Grandfather, by his wife Sicily Wright Clark in Hallseville, Chester, South Carolina. I believe that we are talking about the same person. Unfortnuately, he was murdered in about 1933 by a Robert ("Dolly") Wright (it's a long story). In South Carolina during that period, when people were murdered there was usually no death certificate. His brother was Amos Clark, and from the census records it appears that Amos died between 1900 and 1910. Fletcher had several children with his wife Sicily, and by others as well(including a Rev. David Carthel Clark, Sr. by another relative of mine, Lilly Mae Wilks). My great grandfather was William ("Will") Clark. The 1975 North Carolina death certificate of one of his youngest sons, John Amos Clark, lists Fletcher Clark and Sicily Wright Clark as the parents. Also, the 1955 Application for Certificate of Birth by a Fonnie Viola Clark Cohn lists Fletcher and Sicily Clark as parents. Othe! r children include Sam Clark and Esther Clark. We, the South Carolina branch of the family, know about a Tom Clark that moved to Alabama. Is this your anestor? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
