Did he marry Nancy Mott? There have been stories that this John took a bunch of family members to Texas, where many of them died. I've also heard that he was a good, though hard-headed man. I'm descended from one of his daughters who stayed in South Carolina. I know that Nancy died Feb 3, 1926 in Cherokee, and that he died sometime before this, though where i do not know.
