I found somewhere that they were married in Cherokee Co. S. Carolina and am trying to document it. the marriage would have been in the early 1800's maybe 1814 or close to that year. Lucy Riley was the daughter of Samuel Riley and Gu lu sti yu Doublehead a Cherokee of the long hair clan. If anyone out there has any information on Owen and Lucy, please let me know. Thank you

Cherokee County was not formed until 1898. Look in the Union, Spartanburg, or York County records for this couple. However- marriage, birth and death records were not kept in the state until 1911 or later (depending on record needed).
