My information is taken from notes that my grandmother kept of family births/marriages/deaths and they document a John "Texas" Smith who was born March 17, 1845 in Cherokee County and died Dec 20, 1928 in Texas with burial in East Hill Cemetary in Palestine, Texas. He was a brother to her father-in-law. That is all that was in her notes. She did not record any marriage(s) or children for John "Texas" Smith. I am just getting started with this documentation of our family though and if I run into anything more about John, I will forward it to you. I would appreciate any information that you might have on John's ancestry.
