I am his great great grandson as most of his children including my great grandfather David Thompson Bagwell moved to Middle Tennessee area. I know Josiah lived in S.C. and served in the Civil War as a private in Co. C 27th S.C. Inf. Where is he buried? His wife is supposed to have recieved a pension from the State of S.C. for his war service but I have not been able to find tha info either. Any help will be appreciated.

I do not have a lot on this couple, however, they are both buried at Thompson' Chapel Baptist Church on the edge of Spartanburg County, just inside the line from Cherokee. Josiah's parents were Hiram J. Bagwell and Ruth Thompson. I have more info on the Thompsons than the Bagwells, but will share what I know if you like. I would love any info on David Thompson Bagwell.
