My atlas does not have the town of Morgan on it. The 1920 census says the Roberts family lived at Morgan between Rock or Root and Metal Road. Where would this be. Sally Roberts
The only geographic "Morgan" I can find in Cherokee County is Daniel Morgan School near Chesnee -- There is however a Morgan Township in neighboring Rutherford County on the USGS Sugar Hill map. There is a "Roots Store" in southern Rutherford County (which may have been on a Root Road). Hope this might be a little help.... We need to get together and share data sometime - maybe explore this area. Are you near Cherokee County? I've not seen that 1920 data and wouldn't mind helping you find this area. There is an old Metal road in Cherokee County, S. C. I wonder if this could be the road that they are talking about. I have several relatives that were enumerated in 1900 in Morgan Township, Cherokee County, South Carolina. Several of those same people were enumerated in Limestone Twp the following year. Perhaps the name of the township changed over the years......
