The Woody Family William Woody (Sr.) the father of Jonathan Woody,(who was the father of Leticia Woody),emigrated to America,from England,long before the Revolutionary war and settled on the Potomac River. William Woody married Mary Percil,an english lady. Jonathan woody was born where his father first settled. After his birth,his father and family moved to SC.,where he became the father of 8 children,4 sons and 4 daughters.3 died in infancy. Their father,Jonathan Woody moved to Iowa and died at, or near, the age of one hundred years.At the time of his death he was living with his youngest son,Berry Woody. Jonathan woody had 3 brothers and 4 sisters,namely: William,Talton,James,Elizabeth,Nancy,Sarah,and Mary William married Elizabeth Lovell,sister to Jonathan'wife. Elizabeth married a William Watkins. Nancy married John Slayton. Sarah married Abner Morris. Mary married John Davis,nicknamed "Jack of Diamonds" William Woody Jr.,brother of Jonathan Woody,had 13 children,9 sons and 4 daughters Namely: John,Silas,Talton,William,Killis,Nicholas,David,Joseph,Washington,Nancy Elizabeth and Kissia.
