He doesn't show up on the Spartanburg Public Library Indes 1954-56 http://www.spt.lib.sc.us/obits/index.html there are several McDaniel listiings but none in Gaffney I would check with the Shufford-Hatcher Funeral Home since they do by far the most arrangements if not all in Gaffney...they are very nice about checking their files...also the Gaffney Ledger is online and you can e-mail them to see what their archives policies and capabilities are.
