    1. $100 Reward for Elijah WADE
    2. Eldon Wade
    3. Hi ALL, Please let me apologize to any of you who may be on more than one of the lists I'm sending this to as you unfortunately will receive more than one copy of this message. I'm posting a $100 reward for any conclusive evidence that will help me identify the parents of Elijah WADE. The reward goes to the first person who provides the info that leads to the arrest and conviction (just kidding about that part) of the parents of Elijah WADE. The reward will be paid by money order, cashier check or whatever form the winner chooses. Here is what I know about Elijah: Elijah WADE b. abt. 1804 SC. Elijah WADE m. Rebecca HAMES on 12-30-1823 in Hall Co GA. Rebecca was the dau. of John HAMES and Charity JASPER. Elijah and Rebecca lived in SC until abt. 1833 (prob. in Union, Cherokee or Spartanburg Co) as they had four children b. in SC. In 1833 or 1834 they moved to Benton Co (Calhoun) AL where they appear on the 1840 census. In the 1840s they moved to Marshall Co AL where they stayed. Known children were Martha Ann WADE b. abt. 1833 SC, William WADE b. abt. 1834 AL, and twins Elijah WADE Jr and Elisha WADE b. abt. 1842 AL. Martha Ann WADE m. Claiborn C. WATERS. Elijah WADE Jr m. Eliza BLAKE. William WADE (my gg-grandfather) m. Catharine CRAIG in 1855. Catharine CRAIG was the dau. of Leonard CRAIG. Elijah and Rebecca had three other sons b. bet. 1824 and 1830 in SC which I do not know the names of. I am looking for the names of the parents of Elijah WADE (or at least his father). More info: My Elijah WADE was not the son of David Bingley WADE. David Bingley WADE was b. 2-18-1755. David's son Elijah was b. bet. 1791 and 1799, prob. 1791. My Elijah WADE was b. abt. 1804. Several census show Elijah as being born in SC. Below is a list of the WADE heads of household that appear on the 1810 SC census who have sons under the age of 10 years old - my Elijah would have been abt. 6 yrs old then: First name of head of Census Males Household page # under 10 County A. 156 1 Pendleton Abraham 163 1 Pendleton Agnes 161 1 Pendleton Daniel 173 2 Richland David 163 1 Pendleton David 161 1 Pendleton Edward 161 1 Pendleton Henderson 079 2 Edgefield Henry 199 2 Fairfield James 161 2 Pendleton Mathew 149 1 Pendleton Thomas H 010 2 Lancaster I look forward to paying this reward and I thank you for your patience. 2. Hi To anyone with connections to Habersham co.Ga. I saw this on the GAHABERS-L@rootsweb.com mailing list, they really need many more articles to get this book in print. I am not subscribed to many of the list that I sent this information to,Please make any replies to GAHABERS-L@rootsweb.com Thanks Gay Stewart Beam GAHABERS-L@rootsweb.com The Habersham co.GA.Heritage Book needs articles from anyone with connections to Habersham co.Ga. The deadline for the Heritage Book has been extended to August 31. The book committee met on Thursday night to review the number of family histories and book orders received. Although we need more family histories to be submitted, the orders for books are below the publishers minimum for even printing the book. Habersham County originally encompassed Banks, Rabun, Lumpkin, Stephens and White counties and parts of Franklin and Jackson. If your ancestors were in Habersham County prior to 1850, they were pioneers, and you are entitled to submitting an additional 500 word article on the family for a total of 1000 words at no cost. Additional words are 10 cents each. Each article submitted is entitled to one photo FREE. Photos will be printed 2-1/2" wide (one column) and 1-3/4" high. (Information is outlined in the brochure.) A self-addressed, stamped envelope should be included in submitted articles with pictures. If you are interested in submitting an article and/or ordering a book, please send me your snail-mail address, and I will mail you a brochure of the guidelines. If you are interested in purchasing a book, the cost is $48.69 picked up in Habersham County or $52.69 (which includes $4.00 for shipping). Book orders with checks should be sent to: Habersham County Heritage Book P.O. Box 2643 Clarkesville, GA 30523 There will be no surplus copies printed. Only the number of pre-paid orders for books will be printed. So, if you want a book, the order must be submitted by the deadline of August 31. Habersham County was such an important center in early Georgia history, we need to have this area documented for future generations of its decendants to read and appreciate their heritage. Such a research tool is vital for future genealogists. Lynne in the beautiful northeast GA mountains chick@hemc.net Please send replies to GAHABERS-L@rootsweb.com Thanks

    1. South Carolina Reserve Units - 1861 thru 1865
    2. Bil Brasington
    3. I apologize if you have received this message more than once but I am sending to all the lists I belong. During the war years, many men served in South Carolina reserve units. I have built a site of all such units I cab find, most with rosters of the men who served. I have built a web site at http://www.geocities.com/screbels_1864/SC_Militia.html with some data about the troops (some more than others) and wish to have more. I have some battle and field assignments. If you have data on any of these units and/or the men (and boys) who served, I would love to hear from you. I would love to know what county each was raised from. Researchers have generally over looked them but every county contributed to these units. If you send data, let me know whether you wish for me to add your email to the page or not (your choice). Anyway, take a look and honor their service on this Memorial Day. W A "Bil" Brasington PS. The 1864 units (my special interest) is included on the above link and can also be reached at http://freeweb.pdq.net/Bil_Brasington/SeedCorn.htm to steal from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research. Why couldn't I have had one paper "pack rat" ancestor? ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
